February is heart health month, so it seems like the perfect time to share this super delicious, and super easy smoothie recipe with you all. Did you know that Welch’s 100% grape juice contains no added sugar, color or flavor and it supports a heart- healthy lifestyle? Plus, it’s purple and it tastes good! Purple happens to be wild thing #4’s favorite color, so she is particularly fond of this recipe. We love to experiment with different kinds of smoothies, and this is one of our favorites. It is so easy, and there are only has 3 ingredients, and one of them is ice! That makes things really easy for me, since I can basically decide on a whim to make one for the kids, or for myself. We usually have all three ingredients in the fridge at any given time.
Grape Creamsicle Smoothie
- 1 cup Welch’s 100% grape juice
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup of ice
Put all of the ingredients into the blender and blend. So delicious, and so easy!! If you wanted to make this as a meal, you could even add a scoop of protein powder, or add frozen bananas, or strawberries. That’s it! I love when the kids will ask for one of these for breakfast, or a snack, and I feel great about making them one, and they think they are pulling one over on me, and getting ice cream for breakfast. They are so healthy, and such a fun treat for the kids. Once I’m done there is basically no clean up either, which pretty much makes this the perfect treat!
